A bilateral French-Moroccan military exercise was conducted in the Ouarzazate region from 23 May 2021 to 3 June 2021, as part of the excellent cooperation between the French armed forces and the Royal Armed Forces.
This aeroterrestrial training maneuver “ALAT / FAR 2021”, involving many units of the two countries, contributed to the strengthening of interoperability between aeroterrestrial means of the Moroccan Armed Forces and others of the 4th aerocombat brigade of Clermont-Ferrand (120 soldiers of the 3rd and 5th Combat Helicopter Regiments,
1 Gazelle helicopter, 2 Tiger helicopters, 2 Cayman helicopters, 2 Puma helicopters). The deployments of French personnel and equipment will have benefited in particular from the support of an A400M aircraft.
The exercise, built on the basis of a classic scenario, will have made it possible to conduct operational fire training from deployed aerial vectors.
On the occasion of this exercise, the Ambassador of France to Morocco, Mrs. Hélène Le Gal, exchanged with military authorities of the operational sector of SAGHRO as well as the inspection of the Royal Air Forces.
The Spanish kingdom was excluded from the 2021 African Lion exercises due to a diplomatic crisis between the two countries… Because of some of the kingdom’s unacceptable actions, which showed its lack of compliance with UN laws and respect for the sovereignty of friendly countries.
