The rate of progress of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway more than 38%

The progress rate of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway, whose reinforcement and widening of the national road N 1 to 9 meters between Laâyoune and Dakhla, exceeds 38%, said On Wednesday in Sidi Ifni, the site manager for the provisional management of the national road N 1 between Tiznit and Dakhla, Yassine Zitoune.

In a statement to the MAP, during the inspection visit of the governor of Sidi Ifni province, El Hassan Sidki to the stretch of Sidi Ifni, on the occasion of national road safety day, Mr. Zitoune indicated that this titanic project is part of the program of the new development model of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, stating that the rate of progress of this project between Tiznit and Laây.

Regarding the other sections, the official pointed out that the rate of progress ranges from 17% to 67%, noting that seven works of art have been completed out of a total of 16, while work has begun in the others.

On this occasion, explanations were presented to the governor of Sidi Ifni province on the rate of progress of work at the Sidi Ifni section.

The governor, who visited a work of art located in “Oued Afgha” whose work reached 90%, also kicked off the project on the reinforcement and widening of the road linking the municipalities of Lakhssas and Ait Ouafka on two sections.

Mohamed Garaz, provincial director of equipment, transport, logistics and water, said the “important” project, which covers a distance of 89 km, requires a budget envelope of about 153 MDH.

The first tranche of this project, which costs 74.51 MDH, will benefit the municipalities of Sidi Hssaein, Aït Erkha and Sidi Abdellah.

The second tranche, which will raise more than 78.40 MDH, will benefit the municipalities of Boutrouch, Ibdar, Tighirt, Anfeg and Ait Ouafka.

Implemented by the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, in partnership with the Sidi Ifni Provincial Council and the Ministry of the Interior (General Directorate of Local Government), this project aims to open up the population and contribute to economic and social development in order to support public and private investment in the beneficiary municipalities.

It should be noted that the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway, which covers 1,055 km and has a cost of about 10 billion dhs, is a structuring lever for the economic and social development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom.

This major project will reduce the time and cost of transport, improve traffic flow, service levels, comfort and road safety, and facilitate the transport of goods between cities in the south of the Kingdom and major production and distribution centres.
